Adding custom fonts to your newsletter or site

Use Google Fonts or upload WOFF2 files to customise heading and body fonts in iNewsletter and Naavi Sites.

You can use your school’s brand fonts in iNewsletter and Naavi Sites. Choose a font from Google Fonts or upload your own font files, then use it for headings, body text or both.

To open the font settings

  • In iNewsletter: open your publication and click Settings > Theme from the left menu.

  • In Naavi Sites: open your site and click Settings > General, then click Change Fonts.

Open the Heading Font menu and choose Add Custom Font.... You can then choose one of the two options below.

To add a font from Google Fonts

  1. Click the Google Fonts tab.

  2. Start typing the font name in the search box. Matching fonts appear as you type.

  3. Click the font you want to use, then click Add Font.

The normal, bold and italic styles are added where they are available. You don’t need to download or upload any files yourself.

To upload your own font files

You’ll need the font files in WOFF2 (.woff2) format. Include all the styles and weights you want to use, such as regular, bold and italic. You can select up to 32 files, with a combined size of up to 32 MB.

  1. Click the Upload Files tab, then click Select Font Files.

  2. Select the files for one font family.

  3. Wait for the files to be checked. A table shows the file names, styles and weights that have been detected.

  4. Check the Font family name, which is filled in from the files. You can change this name if needed.

  5. Click Add Font.

If a file cannot be accepted, an error message explains the problem so you can choose another file.

To apply and save your font

After you click Add Font, the window closes and your new font is selected as the Heading Font. Custom fonts are shown with Custom: before their name.

  1. Check the live preview to see how your font looks.

  2. If you also want it for body text, choose it from the Body Font menu.

  3. In iNewsletter, click Save on the Theme panel. In Naavi Sites, click Save & Close in the Site Fonts window.

Adding a font does not save your theme settings. Make sure you complete the final save step to apply your choice.
